The First & Fog Quality Promise
Know what is behind every cup.
Premium coffee deserves more than beautiful packaging. It deserves clear sourcing information, responsible production, careful roasting and honest explanations of what each certification truly means.
Explore our quality standardOur standard
Quality built on freshness and restraint.
First & Fog works with established American roasting and fulfilment partners rather than holding large quantities of pre-roasted coffee for extended periods. Our suppliers source green coffee internationally, roast it in the United States, package it for our brand and ship it directly to customers.
Specialty-grade selection
Temecula Coffee Roasters describes its coffee catalogue as specialty grade, with coffees selected, roasted, cupped and reviewed for quality.
Roasted in America
Green coffee is imported from producing regions worldwide and roasted by our partner facilities in the United States.
Demand-led production
Our partners emphasize frequent roasting and fulfilment rather than relying exclusively on long-held finished inventory.
Product-specific claims
Organic, Fair Trade and Swiss Water® claims are used only for products that are specifically eligible for them.
Who produces our coffee
Two specialist roasting partners.
First & Fog is the customer-facing brand. Our roasting partners handle physical sourcing, roasting, packaging and fulfilment for the products assigned to them.

From origin to your doorstep
The journey from coffee cherry to cup.
Select a stage to explore the typical path followed by coffees in the First & Fog collection. Exact methods can vary by origin and individual lot.
Stage 01
Cultivation
Coffee trees are grown in origin-specific climates, elevations and soils. Temperature, rainfall, shade, variety and altitude all influence the character of the finished cup.
Stage 02
Harvest
Ripe coffee cherries are collected manually or mechanically, depending on the farm, terrain and production system.
Stage 03
Processing
Coffee may be washed, naturally processed, honey processed or fermented. Processing influences sweetness, acidity, clarity, body and fruit character.
Stage 04
Roasting
Green coffee is roasted in the United States according to a selected profile. Roast development helps balance origin character, sweetness, body and intensity.
Stage 05
Packing
The roasted coffee is packed in protective bags or compatible single-serve formats and labelled for First & Fog.
Stage 06
Delivery
Orders are fulfilled directly through the responsible roasting or fulfilment facility, reducing the need for additional warehousing between production and delivery.

What each trust signal actually means.
Supplier relationships do not automatically make every First & Fog product certified. Open each item below for the exact scope and limitations.
Temecula Coffee Roasters identifies itself as an FDA-registered roasting facility. Registration relates to the facility and applicable regulatory obligations. It is not an FDA endorsement of the coffee or brand.
Temecula states that its operation is FSMA compliant. FSMA focuses on preventive food-safety systems and controls within food-production operations.
Fairtrade® and Fair Trade Certified™ options exist within supplier catalogues. Only products covered by the relevant certification may display or claim that certification.
Organic coffees are available through supplier catalogues. Organic status applies only to specific eligible products and does not apply automatically to the entire First & Fog range.
Selected decaffeinated coffee may use the trademarked Swiss Water® Process. This claim describes the decaffeination process used for that specific product.
Temecula has published Eurofins testing information for a selected Peru coffee through its Clean Coffee Project. Those findings are product- and lot-specific and should not be generalized to every First & Fog product.
No vague wellness promises
What we will claim and what not.
- We do not claim that every First & Fog product is organic or Fair Trade.
- We do not imply that all products have undergone identical contaminant or laboratory testing.
- We do not describe coffee as treating, curing or preventing disease.
- We identify functional ingredients using the responsible supplier’s ingredient declaration.
- We use origin and processing details supplied by the responsible roaster.
- We update product information when a supplier changes a lot, formulation or specification.
“Our promise is not perfection hidden behind marketing. It is thoughtful selection, responsible partners and honest information about what is actually in your cup.”Felix Kirsch — Founder, First & Fog
