Products
Coffee, tea and brewing.
Choosing the right product, roast, grind and format.
Where is First & Fog coffee roasted?
Our coffee is roasted and packaged in the United States by specialist roasting partners, including Temecula Coffee Roasters and Old Chicago Coffee Co.
Green coffee is sourced from producing regions around the world. The stated origin, roast and processing information for a particular coffee can be found on its product page.
Is the coffee roasted before it is shipped?
Our roasting partners emphasize frequent, demand-led production rather than relying exclusively on coffee that has been stored for long periods.
Exact roast and fulfilment timing can vary by product, supplier, order volume and destination.
What is the difference between light, medium and dark roast?
Light roasts generally preserve more of the coffee's origin-specific brightness and delicate flavour. Medium roasts balance origin character with greater body and roast development. Dark roasts offer deeper roasted flavours, heavier body and lower perceived acidity.
Roast descriptions are useful guides, but flavour also depends on origin, processing, grind and brewing method.
Which grind should I choose?
- Whole bean: Best when using your own grinder.
- Standard or drip grind: Intended for most automatic drip brewers.
- Coarse grind: Commonly used for French press and cold brew.
- Fine grind: Intended for compatible espresso-style brewing.
Are all First & Fog coffees 100% Arabica?
Many products use 100% Arabica coffee, but the claim should be confirmed on the specific product page or package. We do not apply one universal statement to every item in the catalogue.
Do flavoured coffees contain sugar?
Flavoured coffees are typically made by adding flavouring to roasted coffee rather than sweetening the brewed drink. Ingredients vary, however, so review the ingredient declaration on the exact product before purchasing.
Are the single-serve pods compatible with my machine?
Compatibility depends on the pod format and your brewing system. Review the compatibility information shown on the product page before ordering.
Do not assume that every pod is compatible with every single-serve brewer.
How should I store coffee?
Keep coffee tightly sealed in a cool, dry and dark place, away from direct sunlight, moisture, heat and strong odours. Avoid repeatedly exposing the coffee to air.
For everyday use, a sealed bag or airtight container at room temperature is generally more practical than refrigeration.
Does First & Fog sell tea and matcha?
Yes. Our Tea & Matcha collection may include matcha, green tea, black tea, mint tea and other selected products. Brewing instructions and ingredients vary by item.
Do your products contain allergens?
Plain coffee generally has a simple ingredient declaration, while flavoured, functional, tea and specialty products may contain additional ingredients.
Customers with allergies or dietary restrictions should review the current ingredient and allergen information on the product page and package before consuming the product.
Orders
Checkout and payment.
What happens before and after an order is placed.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Available payment methods are displayed at checkout and may include major credit or debit cards, Shop Pay and eligible digital wallets. Availability depends on your device, location and the payment services active on the store.
Is checkout secure?
First & Fog is hosted on Shopify. Payment information is handled through the payment options made available within Shopify's checkout rather than being stored directly by First & Fog.
Can I change or cancel an order after placing it?
Contact us as quickly as possible. Because orders may be sent automatically to a roasting or fulfilment partner, we cannot guarantee that an order can be edited or cancelled once processing has begun.
Why might items from one order arrive separately?
First & Fog works with more than one production and fulfilment partner. Coffee, tea, mugs, accessories or other items may be prepared at different facilities.
This means one order can occasionally arrive in multiple parcels with separate tracking updates.
Can I use more than one discount code?
Discount combinations depend on the terms of each offer and the rules applied at Shopify checkout. Some promotions cannot be combined with other discounts or subscription pricing.
Delivery
Shipping and fulfilment.
Processing, tracking and separate parcels.
Where do you ship?
Available shipping destinations are determined by the product, supplier and active Shopify market. Enter your address at checkout to confirm whether the selected items can be delivered to your location.
Some products may have narrower shipping coverage than others.
How long does processing take?
Processing time varies by product and fulfilment partner. Coffee may require roasting, grinding, packaging and label preparation before shipment.
Processing time is separate from carrier transit time.
How will I receive tracking information?
When tracking is available, it is sent to the email address used at checkout. Orders fulfilled in separate parcels may generate more than one tracking number.
What should I do if tracking has not updated?
Carriers sometimes take additional time to scan a parcel or update tracking events. Allow a short period after receiving the shipment notification before contacting us.
For complete shipping terms, review our shipping policy .
Will I be charged customs duties or import taxes?
Cross-border orders may be subject to taxes, duties or handling charges imposed by the destination country or carrier. Where these are not collected at checkout, they may remain the customer's responsibility.
Subscribe & Save
Recurring coffee deliveries.
Savings, schedules and account management.
How does Subscribe & Save work?
Select an eligible coffee, choose the subscription purchase option and select an available delivery schedule. Future recurring orders are created according to that schedule.
How much do subscribers save?
Eligible subscription orders currently receive 5% off the recurring product price shown on the product page and at checkout.
Which delivery frequencies are available?
Current subscription options may include delivery every two, four or six weeks. Available schedules can vary by product.
Can I skip or cancel a subscription?
Available account-management options may include reviewing upcoming orders, skipping eligible deliveries, changing details or cancelling an active subscription.
Make changes before the next order is processed. An order that has already entered fulfilment may not be cancellable.
When will my recurring payment be charged?
The initial order is charged at checkout. Future orders are charged automatically according to the selected schedule using the payment method saved for the subscription.
Can I buy the same coffee without subscribing?
Where both options are offered, choose either a one-time purchase or Subscribe & Save directly on the product page.
Support
Returns and order problems.
Damaged, incorrect or missing products.
Can coffee or tea be returned?
Food and beverage products may be subject to restrictions once opened or delivered. Eligibility depends on the condition of the item, the reason for the request and the applicable return policy.
Review our return and refund policy before sending anything back.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Contact us promptly and include your order number, a description of the issue, photographs of the damaged product, the outer package and the shipping label.
Keep the packaging until the issue has been reviewed.
What if I received the wrong product?
Send us your order number and clear photographs of the item received. We will compare the delivery with your original order and review the appropriate resolution.
What if part of my order is missing?
First check whether the order was divided into multiple shipments. Coffee, tea and accessories can be fulfilled from different locations.
If all tracking numbers show delivery and an item is still missing, contact us with your order details.
Transparency
Quality and certifications.
Supplier claims, origins and responsible language.
Who are your coffee suppliers?
Our current roasting and fulfilment partners include Temecula Coffee Roasters and Old Chicago Coffee Co. The supplier responsible for a particular item may be identified on its package or product information.
Is every First & Fog coffee Fair Trade or organic?
No. Fair Trade, organic and similar claims apply only to specific eligible coffees. We do not extend one product's certification to the entire First & Fog range.
What does “roasted in an FDA-registered facility” mean?
It refers to the registration status stated by the facility producing the applicable product. It does not mean that the FDA has approved, certified or endorsed First & Fog coffee.
Is your decaf made using the Swiss Water® Process?
Selected decaffeinated products may use the Swiss Water® Process. Check the exact product page before ordering because the claim does not apply automatically to every decaf item.
Do you make health or medical claims about coffee?
We describe ingredients, roast profiles and supplier-provided product characteristics, but we do not present coffee as a treatment, cure or prevention for disease.
Customers with medical concerns, caffeine sensitivities or dietary restrictions should seek appropriate professional advice.
